Back2Sankt - Alexander - ChurchNext2

Because of its look the „Sankt-Alexander-Church“ is a well worth seeing building. The master builder Johann Peter Ernst Rohrer started building this church in 1756 and in 1764 it was inaugurated.

At the entry you can see the tomb slab of J.P.E. Rohrer. The church itself is adorned with a lot of aureate statues and pictures, which gives a unique feeling to it. The facade - which is relatively artless on the sides - is decorated with four large saint statues. These were supposed to protect the church against thunder storms, the pest, flood and fire. In addition, the cladding is made of red sandstone.
